We all have suffered from some form of back pain at one point in our lives and we all know how terrible it feels. Back pain is something that is not caused by one single factor, or a few factors. It is caused by a multitude of factors that when brought together cause back pain.
Back pain can be caused by very serious conditions that are life threatening and so should not be treated lightly. But when these have been discounted then the problem starts because nobody can agree on what should be done to help treat it.
The cause of back pain that is not caused by any number of “organic” disease processes such as tuberculosis or cancer is more often than not a functional problem. We have all developed bad postural and movement habits and this causes our spine and bones to take on load in an uneven mechanically distributed way that results in back pain and strain.
Basically the way we move about from the very moment we wake up in the morning to the way we move throughout the day dictates the health of our joints. It is no point to exercise, if the very exercises we undertake are done in a manner that harms us. Most of us want to be told, what is the “correct way to stand”, “what is correct Posture”, “What is the correct way to exercise” No one can honestly tell you that because it is different for each one of us and will vary on any given day.
